Call for Applications: University Summer Courses offered in Germany for Foreign Students and Graduates (HSK) 2026-2027
DAAD is pleased to announce its scholarship programme, “University Summer Courses offered in Germany for Foreign Students and Graduates (HSK) 2026-2027” – Programme Overview
This programme aims to help students and graduates improve their knowledge of German (general language, special language) and their cultural knowledge of the country. The programme funds attendance of the German-taught HSK courses which are offered by state or state-recognised German universities and by affiliated language schools.
Applications are open to regular full-time students:
- pursuing bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in any subject area.
- pursuing Bachelor’s; must have completed at least two academic years at the start of the scholarship period. Final year Bachelor’s and master’s students are not eligible.
- having atleast B1 level of German language proficiency as per CEFR (the language certificates usually accepted: onSET-Deutsch, TestDaF, Goethe Institut-Nachweis, DSD, DSH, telc Deutsch, ÖSD-Zertifikat, and German Abitur (only for technical specialised language courses). The language certificate should be no more than 1 year old for (B1 Level) at the time of application.

The scholarship includes a one-off scholarship subsidy, travel allowance, and health insurance. The online DAAD application portal is open from September 01 till October 30, 2026.

DAAD is conducting OnSET Examination in different locations in India. Please note that we have limited seats and based on your Self-Test/ Einstufungstest (given in registration for German language certificate link above), one will be selected and notified.
