Scholarship Certificate Handover Ceremony for DAAD Scholars in Bangladesh

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) organised a Scholarship Certificate Handover Ceremony on 11 June 2026 to honor its scholarship recipients from Bangladesh. The event was held at the residence of the Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, German Ambassador, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The ceremony recognized the academic excellence, dedication, and potential of the selected scholars, who will pursue higher education and research opportunities in Germany. For the 2026 scholarship year, the awardees represent a broad range of academic disciplines, including Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, Information Technology, Natural Sciences, and Economics. Their selection reflects both individual merit and the growing importance of academic exchange between Bangladesh and Germany.

A special highlight of the event was the interaction with the German Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, who warmly welcomed the scholars at his residence. In his remarks, he spoke about the future aspirations of Bangladesh and emphasized the resilience and determination of the Bangladeshi people. He also addressed the cultural differences between Bangladesh and Germany, encouraging the scholarship holders to approach their time abroad with openness, adaptability, and a willingness to engage with new perspectives. His exchange with the scholars was both thoughtful and encouraging, offering them valuable insights as they prepare for the next stage of their academic journey.

The ceremony served not only as a formal recognition of the scholars’ achievements, but also as a reflection of DAAD’s continued commitment to promoting academic mobility, international cooperation, and intercultural understanding. Through such initiatives, DAAD continues to support the development of future leaders, researchers, and professionals who will contribute meaningfully to their fields and to society.

DAAD extends its sincere congratulations to all scholarship recipients and wishes them every success in their academic and professional endeavors.
